"It is good sportsmanship not to pick up lost balls while they are still rolling."
"Golf is a game in which you yell 'fore', shoot six and write down five."
"Golf's three ugliest words: Still your shot."
It is said that the golf course is the place where deals are made... deals like; can I use another mulligan, does that one really count and can we negotiate that stroke? March 28, 2017 brought out some of Atlanta’s leading men and women in the culinary industry to help raise funds for the chapter’s amazing charities. The ACF-Atlanta Chefs Association hosted its 26th Annual Charity Golf Tournament at Settindown Creek Golf Course.
Through the early morning mist, the “Ping” of golf balls could be heard as they flew off drivers at the driving range and the quiet “Swish” of putters as balls rolled gently toward the cups on the beautifully manicured putting green. Chef Shannon Farmer started golfers off with a “Breakfast for Champions”, which helped some more than others. At promptly 11:00AM golfers revved the engines of their golf carts ready to make their way to their first tee. It was a great start to an even greater day!
Found on the course were many young and old...’er golf enthusiasts being caught on Leonardo’s camera as he commemorated the event. Today’s work place looked different than most days .... but the day’s work was all about giving back. The ACF-Atlanta Chefs Association takes great pride in supporting the Atlanta community through TOT’s Kitchen, helping to educate and feed nutritionally at-risk inner city children; providing scholarships to culinary students through the John Piskor Culinary Scholarship; and supporting ACF Culinary Team USA just to name a few. As we wrap up another awesome golf tournament, we would like to thank our wonderful sponsors – we could not help so many without your continued support! Again thanks and we look forward to “teeing up” with you next March.
