I am honored to be representing the Greater Atlanta Chapter of the American Culinary Federation. As the new President of the Chapter, I would like to invite people from all areas of the food industry to come out and see what we have been doing over the last several years to make our organization more aligned with the food machine in Atlanta. As so many in our community give tirelessly of their time, talent and treasure we to want to do our part helping where ever we can. Education, scholarships, social and business networking, charitable fundraising and a lot of good cooking are just a few of the ways the Atlanta Chapter of the ACF stays connected to the Atlanta food community. Join us when you can, it is fun.

We have several events coming up in the near future. The Annual Chef’s Golf Tournament will be held on March 15th at the Standard Club in Duluth this year. This is one of our premier events ever year and will sell out soon. Sign up today if you would like to be a part of this great event! I guarantee you will have a great time.

On March 30th Chef Mark Paolillo and US Foodservice will be hosting the 5th Culinary Salon during their annual food show being held at the Cobb Galleria. A Cold Food competition with an ACF Sanctioned Category A & B competition for Professionals and Students and Category D for Professionals only. GREAT CASH PRIZES for each category are at stake and the competition is limited to 24 competitors. Several other competitions are currently in the works, Pastry and Hot Food. When details are firmed up we will pass them along.

I would like to lastly mention that Atlanta has been selected to host the 2011 SE Regional ACF Conference. This is a big deal and an opportunity for the city and its food industry to shine! The event will be held at the Downtown Hilton next February. Many exciting events are again in the planning stages and everyone is invited to participate in making this a great success! This also is another great opportunity for the food industry to pull together to bring more business to the city.

Join us when you can,
