2009 President’s Gala and Awards Dinner

               On March 11th the ACF Greater Atlanta Chapter enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Atlanta Athletic Club. Executive Chef Eric Karell went above and beyond making the 2009 President’s Gala and Awards Dinner an evening to remember. His entire staff and Le Cordon Bleu student volunteers worked extremely hard which was noticed by all. With six different food stations and an endless variety of delicious cuisine there was something for every palate. Buckhead Beef, Sysco Foods and Fresh Point Produce also deserve a thank you for providing Chef Karell the support he needed to made the evening possible. Thank you to each of you who put forth so much effort to make this year’s Gala a big success.

 2009 ACF Golf Invitational
On Tuesday March 24th the ACF Greater Atlanta Chapter hosted the 2009 Golf Invitational at the Piedmont Driving Club Golf Course. Special thanks go to Executive Chefs Jay Yarbrough and Phil Mastin, along with a host of chef and culinary student volunteers that teamed up to make this a wonderful charity event.The quality and abundance of the food and drink, thanks to our wonderful sponsors, along with an incredible golf course, combined with a  beautiful day of golfing with friends and associates, made for another very successful ACF Greater Atlanta Chapter event. The ACF Atlanta Golf Committee would like to thank all the Sponsors that came out and supported our Tots Nutrition Program, which raised $3500 for needy Atlanta children. We hope all of you had a wonderful time and will be back at next years golf event to help with our continued commitment to the Atlanta Tots Program.

2009 UCCA Christmas Party

On December 19, 2009 members of the UCCA hosted their annual Christmas Party. The event was held at the Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center where Executive Chef Hermann Schatzer, other area chefs and student volunteers put out a holiday feast that was second to none. The United States Marine Corp was present to accept toys donated by attendees for the Toys for Tots program. Awards were given out and ACF Greater Atlanta Chapter member, Chef Helmut Holzer, CMC, was named UCCA Chef of the Year. After the awards ceremony, guests enjoyed dancing the evening away. Thank you to everyone in UCCA who worked so hard to give us a wonderful evening.

The food was fantastic and the breaking down of the Yellow Fin Tuna was very interesting. We would like to encourage each of you to make the monthly chapter meeting a priority in your schedule.
